The GTO Evoluzione forms the link between the 288 GTO and the F40 that came after it. While the GTO was built for homologation purposes, and the F40 was created as a supercar for the road, this Evoluzione was created a purebred racing car. Only 6 prototypes were ever built, and 3 of them were subsequently used for the development of the F40, making this an incredibly rare sight to see.
