Ford F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew Cab 2011 :
For 2010, Ford introduced its second high-performance truck, the SVT Raptor.
Initially available only as a SuperCab, a SuperCrew cab was added in 2011.
In sharp contrast to the SVT Lightning, the Raptor is intended primarily for off-road use, with modifications designed to improve its off-road performance.
Along with a 411 hp 6.2L V8 paired with a 6-speed automatic (both from the Ford Super Duty line), the Raptor features a model-exclusive suspension with long-travel springs and shocks.
To make room for its larger tires, the Raptor shares only the cab with a standard F-150; the pickup bed, hood and front fenders are wider and exclusive to the model.
For the first time on a Ford in North America since 1983, the word "FORD" was spelled on the grille of the SVT Raptor in place of the Ford Blue Oval badge.
In late 2016, the second-generation Ford Raptor (dropping the SVT prefix) makes its return as a 2017 model.
Still intended as an off-road vehicle, the 2017 Ford Raptor is based on the aluminum-body Ford F-150 introduced for 2015.
In a major change, the powertrain sourced from the Ford Super Duty is replaced by a retuned 3.5L EcoBoost V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
